If They Refuse
A no is not the end. Many people refuse treatment before they accept it. Willingness rarely follows a straight line. Your job is to stay ready for the moment it changes.
Keep the door open. Tell your loved one you will help the day they say yes. Do not lecture. Do not repeat the same argument. Say it once, clearly, then step back.
State your boundary and hold it. Decide what you will and will not do while they keep using. Maybe you stop covering rent. Maybe you stop making excuses to their boss. Boundaries protect you, and they make the cost of not changing real.
Take care of yourself in the meantime. You cannot pour from an empty tank. Sleep. Eat. Lean on people who understand. Consider Al-Anon or your own counselor. This is a long stretch, and you need support too.
When the window opens, move fast. People often say yes suddenly, and that yes can fade by morning. Have a plan ready so you are not scrambling.
You do not have to build that plan alone. Our team can handle the intake and insurance details in advance, so a bed is waiting the moment your loved one agrees.
