Packing List for Treatment
Arrival day gets easier when you pack ahead. Bring comfortable clothing for at least a week. Bring your ID and insurance cards. Bring current prescriptions in their original bottles. Leave valuables, alcohol, and anything unopened at home. Have questions about a specific item? Call before you or your loved one arrives.
Packing List for Treatment, The Details
Packing for treatment is simpler than most families expect. You do not need much. A few practical items cover almost everything, and we can help sort out anything you forget after you arrive.
Bring these:
- Comfortable clothing for about a week, plus something warm
- A photo ID and your insurance card
- Any current prescriptions in their original bottles, labeled
- A list of doctors, pharmacies, and current medications
- Basic toiletries you already use
- A small amount of cash if you want it
Leave these at home:
- Alcohol, drugs, and anything containing them (including mouthwash)
- Weapons or sharp objects
- Expensive jewelry or valuables
- Loose pills or medications not in original packaging
If your loved one is the one coming in, help them pack the ID and prescriptions first. Those two things matter most on arrival day. Everything else is easy to replace or send later.
Call us before you leave if you have questions about a specific item. We would rather answer now than have you turn back.
